An eyewitness video captured a fire tornado swirling as massive wildfires continue to burn across Australia.
The footage was shot and posted on social media by Brenton Davis. In his post, he said the tornado formed on Kangaroo Island, which is off the Australia's south coast.

A fire tornado was responsible for killing an Australian firefighter and injuring two others who were battling New South Wales bush fires Dec. 30. Also known as a collapsed pyro convective column, the tornado lifted a 12-ton fire apparatus into the air and then slammed it onto its roof.
Insurance officials have said damaged caused Australia's wildfires has reached $700 million $485 million in U.S. dollars since September, according to Deutsche Presse-Agentur. As of Tuesday, almost 9,000 claims have been made, and the Insurance Council of Australia expects that number to drastically increase
